Hammers Invites Capitol Technology University to new Demonstration Lab

On Monday, May 9, 2016, the Hammers Company, Inc. hosted faculty and staff from Capitol Technology University for a hands-on demonstration of Hammers’ new HammersSat Demonstration Lab.  Capitol and Hammers have been working together for the past year to develop a system where students in the aeronautics field could experience all aspects of writing commands and procedures, testing, planning, and operating a spacecraft.  The HammersSat Demonstration Lab features many of Hammers’ tools and products as well as products from a.i. solutions and Orbit Logic to create a “completely integrated, one-stop solution for satellite flight software development and mission operations”. The products featured in the Demonstration Lab include:

  • Galaxy® – Hammers’ Telemetry and Command product
  • FreeFlyer® – a.i. solutions’ flight dynamics product
  • Collection Planning and Analysis Workstation – Orbit Logic’s collection activity planning product
  • Order Logic – Orbit Logic’s data acquisition management product
  • Scheduler – Orbit Logic’s mission planning product
  • STARS – Hammers’ data archive, trending, and analysis product
  • Mercury – Hammers’ system automation product
  • VirtualSat® – Hammers’ simulation and training product
  • tACT – Hammers’ early orbit timeline planning product

A Hammers employee and Capitol Technology University alumni, Marcel Mabson led the demonstration of the products and fielded questions from faculty and staff.  The goal is to develop a similar lab at Capitol’s campus, and have interns and student groups complete lab assignments, projects, and to explore their field in a way they haven’t been able to up to this point.  This is an exciting undertaking for Hammers as we are truly able to support future aeronautics engineers and getting a chance to watch them learn and discover!
