Galaxy Release 8.21.0

We are pleased to announce the availability of Galaxy Release 8.21.0

Galaxy is now built with RHEL6.4 and Java 1.7. This means the minimum supported OS is now RHEL6.4 (or a direct variant like CentOS) with Java version of at least 1.7.

This release contains the following new features along with bug fixes:

  • Added a documentation table and foreign key links from records to the documentation to the database generated with rec2sqlite.
  • Added the ability to use the incomplete packet handling option in quicklooklz when no annotation header is present.
  • Added ISYELLOW and ISRED STOL functions.
  • Added the ability to specify the maximum number of background PROCs that can be run using the ITOS_STOL_MAX_PROCESSES environment variable. See START.
  • Added the ability to discard data that was the result of a short read in quicklooklz using the discard_short_read argument.
  • Added the STOLASCIICommandRewriterComponent that will output the text of a command issued from STOL followed by a newline character.
  • Updated the RHEL6 Install Guide and included a new RHEL7 Install Guide.
  • Added command source and sink components to the ITOS-provided graphs.
  • Added a BREAKPOINT directive to STOL.
