Capitol Tech opens SFOTC with Hammers Contribution

On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, Capitol Technology University officially opened its Space Flight Operations Training Center with a major contribution of technology from the Hammers Company.  The center employs Hammers’ Galaxy telemetry and command system to control a fleet of simulated “HammersSat” spacecraft based on Hammers’ VirtualSat real-time dynamic simulator.  Hammers contributed its software products and engineering services to help the university maintain its long-standing pre-eminence in educating engineering students in spacecraft operations and related disciplines.

The selected candidates will join our Greenbelt Maryland team supporting the United States Geological Survey (USGS) contract which includes mission operations support of both Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 spacecraft. You will have an opportunity to contribute to the world’s longest continuously acquired collection of space-based moderate-resolution land remote sensing data used for strategic land management. The positions are contingent on the successful award of the Landsat Mission Operations (LMO) contract anticipated in April 2017. Work will be performed on-site at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
